Flash Book Writing Cohort:
Finish a draft in one month
A cohort for queer, BIPOC, women, disabled, and nonbinary writers who want to finally finish writing a book before the end of the year and know that our writing and publishing are too often ignored by the industry.
This is a community cohort who “gets it.”
Back by popular demand, our annual Flash Book Writing Cohort is inspired by NaNoWriMo’s idea that you can complete an entire book manuscript in one month.
If you’ve had “write my book” on your 2026 to-do list and find yourself scrambling to reach that epic goal before year end, you’ve found your cohort!
Kicking off just before November with a session dedicated to setting up the writing month for success with a solid outline and Dr. Ang’s proven strategy called “The Great Cut and Paste,” our first group coaching sets you up for success. As you aim to write roughly 1,600 words per day for one month, our two November coaching sessions focus on creative writing techniques to keep the energy going. And our final December session includes next steps for proofing and editing your draft into a polished manuscript ready for publication.

Any writer who identifies as any of the following: feminist, queer, BIPOC, a woman, nonbinary, disabled. These perspectives are tremendously underrepresented in publishing. In fact, LGBTQIA+ writers only represent 16% of published authors and BIPOC writers only represent 11%. Tehom Center Publishing wants to change this.
-
Register by paying in full or on a monthly payment plan and fill out the registration form.
-
The program does not limit genre and past participants have written creative nonfiction, novels, poetry, memoir, and books of essays.

No. While most coaching clients choose to submit manuscripts for potential publication with TCP or one of our publishing partners, some also choose to publish elsewhere, self-publish, or forego publishing. Publishing with TCP is not required.
-
No.
TCP provides equitable 1:1 and group coaching programs that provide a proven avenue to publishing with TCP or one of our partner presses, but because we do not charge for publishing, we cannot guarantee a contract. While MOST coaching clients submit fabulous proposals that lead to a publishing contract, a client who submits a poor proposal or a proposal that is racist, sexist, homophobic, etc will not be offered a contract for publication.
“This cohort was exactly what my writer’s soul needed—in expected and unexpected ways…I have never felt so supported while living birth to something new! Highly, highly recommended!”
